MBS Access buys Traccess 230 and ZED 21 JHV

CTE UK Ltd are pleased to announce an important sale to MBS Access based in Witham, Essex, consisting of 2 CTE products, a Traccess T230 which was bought to compliment their fast growing fleet of tracked access platforms and their very first truckmounted access platform, the new Zed21JHV, the first lightweight variable jacking machine produced by CTE.

Although MBS Access operate a considerable number of spider type tracked access, they are a newcomer to CTE and also to the truck mounted access platform market. Both of these purchases follow extensive research and evaluation of a number of different manufacturer’s products by Martyn Bass and Ben Dobson of MBS Access.

The Zed21JHV is only one of two units launched into the UK in 2014 (the Zed being the CTE brand identifying an articulated machine with ‘Z’ configuration and zero tailswing). This machine is very new to the market and is based on the original and extremely popular Zed21J design, and offers a very versatile and compact machine, with a stowed height of only 2.6m, with 20.7m working height with an outreach of 10.0m and a unique basket capacity when the outriggers are fully deployed of 300kg throughout the working envelope. This truck mount has the innovative design in terms of technology for its ‘H’ type outrigger configuration, enabling quick and easy set up, with the addition of variable jacking, offering narrow, one-sided or fully deployed outrigger configurations.

MBS Access opted for the variable jacking option to enable them to offer much more flexibility as well as something different to their customers. Martyn Bass, owner and Managing Director of MBS Access chose this product because it is a well proven product in the self drive market, liked by customers for its reliability, ease of use and smooth control, and of course its ability to be used in many differing market sectors. In addition CTE UK offered full technical back-up and support as well as a comprehensive spares holding in the UK.
Also to compliment their current fleet of tracked machines, MBS Access opted for the well proven CTE 23m TRACCESS machine c/w Kubota diesel engine, 110V mains electric power and optional white, non marking tracks. The new T230 has proved very popular with the operators at MBS Access who have been used to the Teupen product until very recently.

CTE is one of the only manufacturers of spider type platforms that have maintained the minimum overall travelling width of machine, with the 23m not exceeding 800mm wide in the travel mode (basket detached), allowing the machine to be manoeuvred through narrow gates and doorways. The Traccess T230 offers a working height of 23m, with an excellent outreach of 12m, with 200kg basket capacity throughout the working envelope. The T230 is extremely compact, being only 2.0m high when in the closed position and only 5.28m long. Another huge benefit is that the machine only weighs 2900kg.

Martyn Bass commented that the length and width of the T230 has made it possible for us to carry out jobs that we previously would not have been able to attempt. This is proving very popular with our window cleaning customers. MBS looks forward to a growing relationship with its customers and CTE UK.

Graeme Hill, General Manager of CTE UK commented that we are delighted to receive this important order from such a highly respected specialist access rental company, and are pleased that both the CTE truck and tracked access platforms were chosen to compliment the MBS hire fleet. We also wish MBS Access every success with their new truckmounted access platform venture.
