STRANGE AND INTERESTING APPLICATION – Extreme working conditions: low temperatures

Some times it is necessary to work in very difficult climatic conditions. The low temperatures reached this year throughout Europe, represent an extreme condition for human work, but not for CTE platforms. A comparison between Russia and Italy.

Northern Italy: Impianti Colfosco , based in Colfosco in Alta Badia (Alto Adige) , deep in the South Tyrolean mountains, and operating for nearly 30 years, is a company specialized in the management of ski lifts and ski slopes, in addition to operating in the field of construction and earthmoving equipment.
As far as construction of roads and bridges is concerned, for several months the company has capitalized on the high performance self-propelled tracked TRACCESS 230 to implement recent work on a bridge near Pescosta Corvara in Alta Badia.
Low temperatures – 10 °C, frost, snow, wind, have not stopped the TRACCESS 230 from working: in the image you can see TRACCESS 230 lying on the bed of the river effecting checks & tests of a pipeline.
TRACCESS 230 reaches 23 m of working height, 12 of outreach and a capacity of 200 kg.
RUSSIA: Ruskomtrans CTE’s Russian dealer has made a special demo unit from a telescopic aerial platform B-Lift150 and a Sobol frame. Thus, a machine suited to Russian electricity distribution companies and for performing maintenance work (in the fields or in the woods), repairs, installation, thermal insulation and salvage work in areas with very low temperatures characteristic of some regions of northern Russia was created.
The outstanding feature of this B-Lift 150 configuration is the single wheel drive which serves to improve levels of safety in poor road conditions (snow, off-road tracks, forests), and the compactness of the machine that proves extremely important when working in limited, tight spaces.
B-Lift 150 reaches 14.6 m of working height, 8.9 m of outreach and a capacity of 200 kg.
